Dressing Room

CODA

I worked in a repertory theater - a practice that only truly survived in Russia and the UK. The dressing room wasn't just a place for actors to get dressed and have their makeup applied. It was a private space. Often, an actor would be assigned their own table, where they would work exclusively for years, sometimes decades. Over time, the table and the room would become filled with a multitude of personal items, from a teapot to family photographs. Sometimes, after an actor left, their table would become something of a museum. Consider this - an actor would sometimes spend most of their life at this spot.
