The advent of the incredibly convenient laptop, nevertheless, has destroyed the value of every word typed. Back in the day, you had virtually no way to correct what you wrote. No built-in auto-spellcheckers either! Besides, a writer's desk was once littered with other books, manuscript pages, diaries, and notebooks. All this wonderful clutter created a unique creative atmosphere, when fingers were bound to intuitively find the right sheet on the table. It has all been replaced by a screen. Nowadays, a writer's desk is almost indistinguishable from the desk of a data entry clerk.
